Children's Liturgy at St Mary's and St John Bosco

At St Mary's and St John Bosco we welcome the participation of young children in the celebration of the Mass. We recognise that young children may find the Liturgy of the Word and other parts of the Mass difficult to understand.

At our 9.30am Sunday morning Mass at St Mary's Church and at our 11.15am Sunday morning Mass at St John Bosco Church we encorage all our young children to take part in their own liturgy during the first part of the Mass.

In their own liturgy they will have the opportunity to listen to the Gospel of the day at a level which they can understand and this would be enriched with discussions, artwork, music and drama.

We try to raise the awareness of God's love for each of us as we celebrate the various seasons of the Churches year. We attempt to explain the meaning of the various parts of the Mass and the symbols that we use.

Our aim is to make our young children's experience of Church enjoyable and meaningful so that they are able to grow in the faith of the Catholic Church and develop as full and active members of our Parish Community.

Children's Liturgy at St Mary's and St John Bosco is for young people aged 4 to 11 years and each young person who attends needs to register with us.

To find out more about Children's Liturgy at St Mary's and St John Bosco please ask when you go along to our 9.30am or 11.15am Mass.
